What We Offer
Setup & Bump-In
Our porters work from your run-sheet to move furniture, arrange staging, carry equipment, and prepare the venue before guests arrive — accurately and on time.
Breakdown & Bump-Out
At the close of your event, our team manages the efficient clearing of all furniture, equipment, and décor — working to venue curfew times and your brief.
On-Site Logistics
During the event, our porters manage deliveries, restock back-of-house supplies, move items between spaces, and support other departments as needed.
Venue Compliance
Our staff follow venue rules, follow safe lift procedures, and take care of furniture and equipment belonging to the venue, caterer, or rental company.
Pricing
Porters are billed at R100 per hour, per porter. - Minimum booking of 4 hours per staff member - Rates are final. Odeon is not a VAT vendor, so no VAT is added - Travel included within 20km of Cape Town CBD. A R300 travel fee applies beyond that - 24, 25 and 31 December and 1 January are billed at double the standard rate Every quote is itemised before you confirm. Nothing is added after.

Can I book porters for setup only, or breakdown only?
Yes. You can engage our porters for any portion of the event — pre-event setup, during-event support, or post-event breakdown, or all three.
What equipment can your porters handle?
Our porters handle general furniture, catering equipment, AV and staging elements, décor items, and box deliveries. For specialist lifting (heavy rigging, structural elements), let us know and we'll advise.
Do porters work alongside other Odeon staff?
Yes. Porters are often booked alongside wait staff and event coordinators as part of a full Odeon team. Mixed bookings are easy to arrange via the quote form.
